Built in 1953 after a fire destroyed the original clubhouse, The Royal Dublin Golf Club's home is a landmark building that can be seen from virtually every point along the coast of Dublin Bay. One of the finest clubhouses in the country, its pitched roof with distinctive, pale-red shaded tiling marks it out as a building of considerable charm and character.
While the clubhouse has been upgraded and modernised on several occasions since 1953, a major redevelopment of the clubhouse was completed in early May 2007. The upper level of the clubhouse has been raised by a full metre and a glass front installed, resulting in panoramic views of both the course and Dublin Bay. ![]()
Jackets are required for the Dining Room and Christy O'Connor Room (our main bar), but less formal attire is acceptable in the relaxed atmosphere of the John Lumsden Room (our informal bar).
With the same spectacular views, the Moran Room provides a comfortable and casual space in which golfers can relax and enjoy food and drink from a varied menu.
Any visit to Royal Dublin should incorporate some time to savour the special atmosphere of the clubhouse. Good food, a social drink and invariably fine company are part of the essence of the Royal Dublin experience.
